BIODESIGN 是一個致力於探索藝術與微生物學交匯的組織，透過各種計畫實驗生物科技、藝術與設計之間的交集。其使命是探索藝術與生物之間的共生關係。
故事
作為一位同時學習過生物與藝術的藝術家／設計師，我相信大自然是藝術的靈感來源，它不僅能增進我們對生物學的理解，也能促進對藝術作品的欣賞與保護。生物學常常提供視覺藝術家描繪生命時所需的形狀、形式、色彩與概念。
About
BIODESIGN is an organization that explores the convergence of Art and Micro Biology, presenting a program that experiments with the intersection of biotechnology, art, and design. The mission is to explore the symbiotic relationship between art and biology.
Story
As an artist/designer that have studied biology and Art. I believe nature serves as inspiration for art; it can enhance understanding of biology and contribute to the appreciation and conservation of artworks. Biology frequently offers the shapes, forms, colors, and concepts that inspire visual artists to depict life.
BIODESIGN 的標誌將微符號「µ」作為核心元素，這是一個代表該組織的重要符號。標誌中的微符號不僅代表微生物尺寸的計量單位，還象徵著我們探索性質的精神。
/01 是一個由符號「µ」構成的結構，該符號可以在整個標示系統和符號中看到。
/02 是一個方括號，在化學和生物學中用來表示動力學和平衡表達式中的濃度，或者在劉易斯結構圖中表示多原子離子。

/01 is a structure that outlined by the symbol “µ” that can be seen throughout the signage system and symbols.
/02 is a sqaure bracket that is used in chemistry and biology to denote concentration in kinetic and equilibrium expressions, denote a polyatomic ion in drawing Lewis structures.
/03 is a squared symbol “^” that is used in physics and biology, and has become mathletics and scientists short-hand for “raised to the power of.” For example, µ is a unit prefix in the metric system denoting a factor of 10−6, meaning 10^-6.

Akkurat-Mono
BIODESIGN 採用 Acumin 作為主要字體，因其具備高度的靈活性，能傳達出平衡與清晰的視覺語言。Acumin 在大字尺寸下具備強烈的視覺衝擊力，同時在小字尺寸下仍保有優異的可讀性與細膩質感。輔助字體為 Akkurat Mono，主要用於小尺寸的描述性文字。其等寬字設計提供清晰的字距，特別適合應用於空間有限的平台。
BIODESIGN uses Acumin as its core typeface for its versatility and ability to convey balance and clarity. Acumin offers strong visual impact at display sizes while maintaining excellent readability and subtlety at text sizes. The secondary typeface, Akkurat Mono, is used for smaller descriptive text. Its monospaced design provides clear spacing between characters, making it ideal for platforms with limited space.
書籍封面使用了「pathogen（病原體）」一詞，源自希臘文 πάθος（pathos，意為「痛苦」或「激情」）與 -γενής（-genēs，意為「產生者」）。本書結合了目錄、歷史紀錄與紀實性內容，深入探討病原體的複雜世界。
版面設計以嚴謹的網格系統為基礎，但在視覺呈現上打破了傳統的跨頁編排形式。頁碼被視為視覺紋理元素，巧妙地為每一頁增添層次感。這種概念性的設計也延伸至標題與段落的排版——它們在頁面上層層堆疊、自由散落，如同疾病的蔓延，反映其無法預測且混亂的本質。
The book cover features the word “pathogen,” derived from the Greek πάθος (pathos, meaning “suffering” or “passion”) and -γενής (-genēs, meaning “producer of”). Functioning as a directory, historical record, and documentary, the book explores the complex world of pathogens.
A structured grid system underpins the layout, though the design breaks convention by avoiding traditional two-page spreads. Instead, page numbers
are treated as visual textures, subtly enhancing each page. This conceptual approach extends to other elements: titles and paragraphs are layered and dispersed across the layout, representing the chaotic and unpredictable
spread of disease.
